Bangkok--Jan 23--TBP Publication
An Industrial Clinic Pavilion will be set up during Thailand Industrial Fair from 9-12 February 2006 at Hall 4 of BITEC to provide support and advice on various issues affecting SMEs, including financing, marketing, management and productivity free of charge.
“The SME Promotion, Thailand Productivity Institute and Technology Promotion Association (Thai-Japan) will participate in the Industrial Clinic Pavilion, and the associations will bring their own experts to provide advice to any SME,” said Ms Porn-Anong Wongnipol, marketing director, TBP Publications Co Ltd, organiser and publishers of Thailand Business Pages industrial directory.
She said a separate booth has been designated as a Taxation Clinic staffed by the Revenue Department to advice SME how to prepare financial reports and other financial documents.
At the same, the Board of Investment’s BUILD program will arrange for the buyers and sellers from automotive industries as well as electronics, electrical appliances and machineries to meet together at Thailand Industrial Fair on Friday 10 February 2006 at Room no 222-223.
Porn-Anong said the buyer-seller match-making was aimed at encouraging the development of local production using local raw materials in a bid to reduce the volume of imported parts and raw materials.
“SMEs who want to use the Industrial Clinic must register by faxing 02 314 6845 or sending email to kanitta@thailandpages.com. They have to explain briefly the problem or issue they would like to consult, the association they prefer to consult with or leave it blank if they want us to decide for the suitable association, the number of people attending, the date and time of the consultation,” said Porn-Anong.
“Buyers and sellers who want to participate in the BOI’s business match-making activity will also have to register,” she said.
“The consultation clinic is designed to accommodate 4-12 visitors per consultation, which is expected to last from 1-2 hours per session,” according to Porn-Anong.
“Each association has a 48 square meter booth divided into exhibition booth and a clinic to receive and consult with SMEs. In the exhibition part of the booth, the associations will sell their books and CDs on financing, marketing, management, productivity and other titles,” she said.
“This free service to SMEs was the result of a survey we conducted on 2,000 respondents who indicated they would want to get advice on the issues that the Industrial Clinic will now address,” she said.
Porn-Anong explained that Thailand Industrial Fair was designed for SMEs looking for good quality but affordable tools and equipment or entry-level machinery, including pumps and compressors, welding equipment, material handling, metalworking, electrical tools and equipment and others.
