In the global market, Ford Focus reiterates its world-wide success by becoming the best selling car in U.K and Ireland with a sale of 442,000 units in 2005 across Europe.
Ford Thailand achieves a significant milestone of recording its best car sales results in December, 2005 since the company’s inception in Thailand as Ford Focus receives an overwhelming response from the market.
Mr. John Fink, Executive Vice President Ford Thailand, said, “Following the over-riding successful launches and record high sales in other markets across the world, Ford Focus has also proved its worth in the Thailand market now. The European styling, German engineering and Superior driving dynamics, accompanied with the best overall package offering have made the all new Ford Focus an irresistible passenger car option for our Thai consumers.”
In December 2005 alone, Ford Focus achieved a record sale of 718 units, the best car sales in the history of Ford, Thailand. For the entire period of three months since the car’s launch in October 2005, the overall sale for Focus has been an impressive 1,548 units.
“December has been the best car sales month for us in Thai market”, said Fink. “We are extremely delighted with the response from the Thai consumers to the Ford Focus, to the point that we were sold out of Focus in the month of October and November last year. We are now in a much better position in Focus stock, and can meet all the outstanding bookings from the month of December."
"The response to the 4-door Ghia sedan and 5-door Sport has been particularly satisfying, accounting for almost 40% of total sales in 2005. Given that the Ford Focus is the only European car in the category priced below 1 million baht, the Ford Focus is probably the best value in the market for any consumer considering a high quality and high standard equipment world class passenger car. Plus you have a choice of 5 different models, and price range in 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback depending on your lifestyle." Fink added.
The Ford Focus is priced between 787,000 Baht for Trend 4-door 1.8L Sedan to 938,000 Baht for Ghia 4-door 1.8L Sedan, and 789,000 Baht for Trend 5-door 1.8L Hatchback to a sporty 2.0L 5-door Hatchback. Standard equipment for all Ford Focus includes Sequential Sports Shift transmission (tiptronic gearbox), trip computer, alloy wheels with 4-wheel disc brakes, auxiliary audio input for MP3 players and rear passenger air-conditioner ventilation. The 4-door Ghia is even equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control and electric-powered driver seat.
“In addition to offering class-leading comfort and safety features, Ford Focus is also the first E20 capable vehicle in Thailand”, said Fink. This enables Focus to run on a variety of fuels including benzene and ethanol blends of up to 20%."
From a global perspective, Ford Focus reiterated its worldwide success by becoming the best selling car in UK and Ireland for the year 2005. The brand recorded a sale of 442,000 units across Europe in 2005, which represents the best sale results in the entire C-car segment since the first Focus was launched in Europe in 1998. Till date, Ford Focus has achieved a sale of close to 4 million units in Europe and nearly 5 million units across the world. Recently, Ford Focus achieved a new milestone as the four millionth vehicle rolled out in Europe.
“Perhaps the best compliments on the Ford Focus come from our customers and member of the media globally — the Ford Focus is the best driving car in the segment. The best advice we can give to anybody considering buying a new car is to test drive the Focus at one of our more than 90 showrooms nationwide", said Fink. "You don't have to buy one, but at least you should know that you can now finally afford to buy a high quality world class European car, as an alternative to a Japanese car." End.
