Ms. Chongruk Sakulpakdee reveals the dramatic sales growth of Motorola Mobile Devices Thailand
Motorola (Thailand) by the Mobile Devices Sector Team led by Ms. Chongruk Sakulpakdee, Country Manager, Mobile Devices Sector (MDS), Motorola (Thailand), Vittakarn Chandavimol, Regional Marketing Manager Thailand & Indo-China, Peerapol Chatanantavej, Business Development and Product Marketing Manager and Tebparith Vongsomboon Senior Country Sales Manager, revealed recently details of a record full-year sales and how Motorola at large is on the road to be number one.
In the last quarter of 2005, Motorola Mobile Devices registered an international global market share of 19%, positioning Motorola as a clear challenger.
For full-year 2005, Motorola reported record sales of $36.84 billion, up 18 percent compared with 2004, and earnings per share from continuing operations of $1.82 per share, up 102% versus 2004.
Meanwhile, Motorola Mobile Devices Thailand reported sales value went up by a record of 84% for the same annual period. In 2005, the number of units shipped was up by 74% compared to the previous year. The trend of the last years has been of high growth for Motorola, but 2005 clearly set a record.
Ms. Chongruk disclosed Motorola’s formula behind the dramatic sales growth of the last year and projected another bright year for Motorola Mobile Devices team sales in Thailand in 2006.
Already widely recognized as a pioneer in design, Motorola is set to continue in the New Year to pursue its relentless focus around delighting consumers. At the core of Motorola's evolving design philosophy are now two key product silhouettes - rounded and thin, each with distinctive profiles crafted to give the products character and personality.
Besides keeping the icons rolling, Motorola is entering 2006 with a comprehensive portfolio of handsets for the mass market, and keeping focus on design. “We take a no-compromise approach to design, with consumers at the heart of innovation. We are not into changing the looks of the phone all the time. Rather, we engage in a consistent design language that emphasizes 'purity with purpose' to satisfy both the usefulness of the device and the beauty of the object” commented Ms. Chongruk.
With the promise of a portfolio of wickedly compelling products for this New Year, Motorola is also to continue developing an equally compelling and broader consumer experience, ranging from music phones to 3G handsets. In the last quarter of 2005 already, Motorola was seen launching ultimate 3G convergence (the Motorola A 1000) for Thai consumers to experience the power of 3G phone and 3G technology. Motorola 3G product roadmaps in both Europe and America makes Motorola one of the top 3G handset suppliers with already 16 models in 3G phone section, ready to delight consumers once 3G technology becomes available in Thailand.
Finally, to complete a comprehensive Thai consumer experience 2006 and beyond, Ms. Chongruk announced that 2006 will see the opening of the first Motorola flagship store in Thailand, plus another Motorola branded store.
