Mr. Jean-Marie Gurne, Senior Vice President — Ice Cream SBU of Nestec S.A. (right), recently concluded a special visit to Bangkok just to congratulate Mr. Philippe Eberle, Executive Director — Ice Cream & Chilled Dairy of Nestl (Thai) Limited, for becoming co-leader in the ice cream market in Thailand in 2005. With growth of about thirty percent, this makes 2005 the third consecutive year growth at this level. Nestl Ice Cream has not only achieved the highest growth among the ice cream companies in Thailand but also the highest growth for Nestl Ice Cream worldwide.
Mr. Jean-Marie Gurne, Senior Vice President — Ice Cream SBU of Nestec S.A. said “Nestl Ice Cream in Thailand has achieved a huge success. It used to be ranked number four in the market, but in 2005 it has proudly made it to be co-market leader with growth of thirty percent for the third consecutive year, far greater than the market growth which was 7-8 %. For me, what happened in the Thai ice cream market is really something extraordinary reflecting the magnificent success of everyone at Nestl Ice Cream Thailand. Moreover, this achievement has supported our worldwide success, as Nestl Ice Cream is now the market leader with 17.5% market share globally.
Mr.Philippe Eberle, Executive Director — Ice Cream & Chilled Dairy of Nestl (Thai) Limited added: “We are so pleased and honored that Mr. Jean-Marie Gurne has made a special visit to congratulate us for our success. This will encourage each of us in Thailand to strive to continue achieving our goals. Nestl Ice Cream’s success in 2005 came from our Blue Mission strategy, which is based on product innovation, brand and visibility, customer service and our team work. For the year 2006, our goal is to become the single market-leader. I can assure you that consumers will continue to receive lots of surprises, with fun from Nestl Ice Cream’s products and marketing activities throughout the whole year.”
