The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and its subsidiaries will join the ‘Money Expo’ in Nakorn Ratchasima province in the Northeastern region of Thailand. The activity is part of the group’s educational outreach. A free collection of securities research for 2006 will be given to those with coupons at the SET Booth. Don’t miss this opportunity on Feb. 17 — 19, 2006 from 10:30-20:00 hours daily at the MCC Hall, 3rd Floor, The Korat Mall.
“The SET’s 2006 investor base expansion plan includes 5 tours outside Bangkok to reach more investors. The SET expects that participating in Money Expo Korat 2006 will promote a greater understanding about stocks, bonds, derivatives, and mutual funds amongst Northeastern investors. All the SET group’s activities will take place in the 100 sq. meter SET booth,” Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, SET EVP, said.
In 2005, the trading turnover for the Northeastern region was THB127.57 million, or approximately THB10.63 million per month. Nakorn Ratchasima ranked number one as most active province in the region, with a trading turnover of THB39.07 million or approximately THB3.26 million per month.
Participating organizations will include the SET, Market for Alternative Investment (mai), Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX), Thailand Futures Exchange Pcl. (TFEX), Thailand Securities Institute (TSI), Thailand Securities Depository Co. Ltd. (TSD), SETTRADE.Com Co. Ltd., Money Channel, the ‘Put Your Money to Work with Mutual Funds’ Project, and Agricultural Exchange of Thailand (AFET).
Apart from exhibitions and showcases, there will be small-group seminars four times daily, between 11:30 — 18:00 hrs. Interesting topics will include “Easy Portfolio Diversification”, “Easy Things to Learn about Bonds”, “Preparing for the SET50 Index Futures with TFEX”, “Internet Trading and SETTRADE’s Services”
At the SET Booth, 1,000 copies of the securities research 2006 collection, worth THB400, will be given away free to coupon holders. Coupons for this purpose are available at any of the 17 securities companies having branches in Nakorn Ratchasima and Khon Kaen.
