Thailand Futures Exchange Pcl. (TFEX) will use the ‘Thai Investors’ Day’ to educate people about the SET50 Index Futures before trading commences. The fair will be a great opportunity for investors to learn from experts, seminars and trading simulations. Opening accounts for derivative trading will also be possible at the Thai Investors’ Day March 4 — 5.
TFEX announced today that in conjunction with The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Thai Investors Association, TFEX will host a “Derivatives Fun Fair” on March 4 — 5, 2006, from 9:30 — 17:00 hrs. at the SET building. The fair is especially aimed at preparing investors for the trading of the SET50 Index Futures scheduled to commence on Friday April 28, 2006.
The response from TFEX member companies and investors has been very favorable. They have both been participating in various activities held by TFEX. TFEX will continue to educate investors both in and outside Bangkok, with a target of reaching 10,000 participants through its various activities in Q1/2006.
The Derivatives Fun Fair will provide everything people will need to know about derivatives trading. They will have a chance to learn more about the SET50 Index Futures, including possible benefits, risks and trading procedures. Visitors will also be able to conveniently open derivative trading accounts at the fair.
Persons interested in opening derivatives trading accounts should bring with them one copy each of their national ID card, house registration, bank statements for the past 3 — 6 months and salary statement (if any). More information can be acquired at any brokers’ booth at the Thai Investors’ Day; currently, TFEX has 20 member companies or brokers.
For people living outside Bangkok, TFEX will undertake roadshows, starting with Hat Yai on March 11, followed by Khon Kaen on March 19.
