Everything Happens for a Reason
On Lost, Season Two, tension builds up as the survivors face the inevitable question — are they lost on the island for a reason?
On AXN (Ch.19, UBC), the heart of action and adventure television, what fate awaits TV's most popular and intriguing castaways? Get set for more heart-racing drama as the landmark television series Lost continues its story of survival, fear and hope. Season Two ratchets up the tension to new levels, following season one's remarkable finale that left the castaways in more strange and desperate circumstances than ever. Lost premieres on 6 March 2006 with 2-hour back-to-back episodes at 10pm. Subsequent episodes of one-hour duration will be aired every Monday at 10pm.
Full of twists and side-plots, the series’ combination of cinematic drama, mystery and action helped Lost win a total of six Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama series and Outstanding Directing. The critical acclaim also continued with a Golden Globe award for Best Television Drama Series.
Season Two reveals the menace encountered by the castaways who braved the ocean in search of rescue. Back on the island, the remaining survivors must conquer their own fears as they make a startling discovery of what lies beneath the mysterious hatch that may give further clues as to what the island is, and perhaps why they may have ended up there.
As they battle the elements and the unknown terrors that lurk within the island, the survivors’ pasts continue to haunt them, while life and death choices and incredible revelations force each survivor to question their own beliefs. As they discover more about each other, will the survivors draw strength from each other, or will mistrust and desperate acts bring their downfall? And will there be an answer to the one question that increasingly overshadows them all — are they lost on the island for a reason?
Season Two also introduces new cast member, Michelle Rodriguez who plays Ana-Lucia Cortez, the leader of the “tailies” - the survivors from the tail section of the plane. A tough, confident woman, Ana Lucia Cortez met and flirted with Lost hero, Jack Shephard in the airport before their flight. A natural leader with a dark and violent past, her manic strength and motivation can make her a very great asset, or a very dangerous enemy.
Says Ricky Ow, General Manager of SPE Networks — Asia, “Lost has garnered a legion of fans from across the globe. A record 23 million viewers tuned in to watch the season 2 premiere of this gripping drama in the US, a whopping 19% more viewers than its year-ago series debut.”
He continued, “Lost also did very well in Asia, with a total viewership of over 12.6 million viewers for season 1. I am confident that season 2 will surpass this figure and cement its position as one of the signature series on AXN.”
