Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia Ltd the marketer of high speed wireless communication services, riding on the CDMA2000 1X network under the brand “Hutch”, swaps conventional auction procedure with a more exciting twist of getting the lowest and unique bidder winning cool hi-tech items being offered via IVR.
Launching “Reverse Auction: The Lowest & Unique Bid Gets the Item” promo for the first time in Thailand on March 8th, all Hutch subscribers will get the chance to win auctioned items if they manage to give, not the highest bid as the usual way, but the lowest figure that no one else has proposed.
According to Mr. Suresh Reddy, Senior Vice President of Marketing of Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia Ltd., “Reverse auction is an entirely new concept in bidding. This model allows the bidder to have the right to purchase an auctioned item at a price far below the market value. This service is expected to stimulate more traffic in CDMA network and create a much more fun atmosphere for people who like to own hi-tech products at a price cheaper that what is normally offered.”
Both prepaid and postpaid Hutch subscribers will be informed about new auction via SMS. Any subscriber who is interested to bid for a particular hi-tech item can participate via IVR (91999). The auction will set a ceiling price for each item and bidders can propose different reserved prices as many times as they can during the “Magic Moment” on a weekly basis. The winner will be confirmed via SMS and won items are available for pick up within a week after the auction.
The system for Reverse Auction will be monitored by LIVE Communication, providing the real time data transfer of auction and information security while the items for auction will be supported by TARAD Dot Com Co., Ltd, the leading provider of online bidding via taladebit.com website, the licensing provider for this service.
