- ItraMAS appoints AIT as its exclusive distributor
- The Malaysian firm has been confident that the Thai market is growing
Advanced Information Technology Public Company Ltd (AIT), a leading systems integration and Service Provider, and ItraMAS Corporation, a leading Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions provider from Malaysia, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster an exciting collaboration that will see the enhancement of efficiency in road transportation systems in Thailand through the promotion and implementation of ITS and Light Emitting Diode (LED) based traffic products in the country.
Speaking on the MoU, Mr. Lee Choo Boo, the Chief Executive Officer of ItraMAS Corporation said, “ITS is currently being given a greater emphasis worldwide, in light of the rising costs related to transportation infrastructure development, and limited land resources particularly in the urban areas. ITS will soon establish itself as a necessity to meet the travel needs of a fast growing population, particularly in Asian countries.”
“We see a significant opportunity in the implementation of ITS in Thailand, where road transportation is used by a majority of the population here. We believe that our collaborative efforts in promoting and implementing Intelligent Transportation Systems with a premier IT solutions provider like AIT can bring significant benefits to Thailand’s land transportation needs.” Mr. Lee said.
Mr. Siripong Oontornpan, AIT Chief Executive Officer, added that the company would combine ItraMAS technology with AIT solution which would be considered as a method to solve the heavy congested traffic problem in Bangkok and other provinces.
“I would say this is a perfect deal between us because we will gain more experiences from our foreign partner who will also perfectly enter into the Thai market,” said Mr. Siripong.
The MOU also outlines a series of cooperative relationships that includes the appointment of AIT as an exclusive distributor for ItraMAS line of LED based products in Thailand.
On the appointment of AIT as the Exclusive Distributor, Mr. Lee said "We are excited to team-up with a quality partner and distributor like AIT. As one of the premier IT solutions provider in Thailand, AIT’s outstanding expertise along with their award-winning services make AIT an ideal partner to ensure the growth of ItraMAS products in the Thai market."
The distributorship arrangement enables Advanced Information Technology to augment its current offerings with all of ItraMAS line of LED products, such as TransLEDTM Traffic and Road Safety products, SkyVISIONTM Multimedia Display System and ColorRAYTM Intelligent Lighting System.
Mr. Siripong added that all ItraMAS products would be introduced to AIT 4 — 10 nationwide partners soon. “We have set sales target for this year at 1,600 million baht, 10% of which will be from ItraMAS products.”
