Bangkok--14 Mar--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) joined hands with the Yala municipal office in holding a “C Licence” training course for 40 carefully selected football coaches from 3 southern border provinces during March 13-27, 2006 at the Mutual Fund for Youth field in Bangkok. The course will receive the support of the Football Association of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King (FAT) and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The aim of the course is to improve the coaches’ skills.
The Instructors for this course are all respected individuals in the football community. Instructors will include Mr. Chanvit Polchivin, Head coach National team, instructor coach at the Football Association of Thailand; Mr. Jatuporn Pramolbal, an instructor coach of the Asian Football Confederation (AFU); Mr. Paiboon Lertwimolrat and Mr. Chaiyong Kam-pium, two other AFU instructors; and Mr. Bhirom Un-prasert, one of Thailand’s most respected referees. All 40 participants will receive a certificate from the FAT.
The “C” licence coach training course is but one part of the many social activities the SET will jointly organize with the Yala Municipal Office to improve the standards of living for Deep South youths in education, sports and society. In 2005, the SET had already launched football field construction projects in Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat.
This will be an opportunity for selected football coaches to improve their coaching skills, which can then be passed on to youths in Thailand’s 3 most southern provinces.
Yala mayor, Mr. Pongsak Yingchoncharoen, said that the Municipal Office sponsored the Yala FA cup in February. The match attracted a large number of people from the 3 southern provinces to participate and watch. The “C licence” project should further benefit the football circle in the deep South.
“Apart from the improvements in health and mind, football is a perfect way to help Thailand’s youths to spend their free time more productively and to become more united, while encouraging them to become professional footballers”, said Mr. Pongsak.
