Raimon Land Gets You to the ‘Point’ of Pattaya’s Growing International Sailing Reputation As it prepares to launch its latest development in Pattaya, Raimon Land gears up for a bigger and better Top of the Gulf Regatta this May at Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya.
Following last year’s sponsorship of the inaugural Top of the Gulf Regatta (TOGR), Raimon Land continues to be a leading driver of sailing in Thailand. The company is once again principle sponsor of this year’s TOGR scheduled for May 3rd — 7 in Pattaya. Raimon Land’s management feels that sailing regattas provide an ideal platform to entertain their current customers as well as to introduce their projects to new clients. During the first “Top of the Gulf Regatta” last year, Raimon Land’s “Northshore Condominium” project in Pattaya was showcased. With Northshore sold out and construction nearing completion, the developer will use this year’s regatta to introduce its “NorthPoint” development. Reinforcing the belief that yachts and property are complementary, Nigel Cornick, CEO of Raimon Land said, "A great deal of synergy exists between the marine leisure and property markets and this will become increasingly evident as both industries continue to develop in Thailand. This year’s Top of the Gulf Regatta is shaping up to be even better with more entries from around the region expected. We look forward to taking a lead role in promoting the regatta and along with it growing Thailand’s reputation as an idyllic yachting and lifestyle destination." Making Waves in Asia’s Sailing Scene A huge fleet is being assembled for the second TOGR from 3rd through 7th May 2006. Hosted by Ocean Marina Yacht Club in all an armada of around 200 sail boats from windsurfers to keelboats will compete, making it the biggest regatta by boat entries ever seen in Thailand. Already enquiries for the Ocean Racing Keel Yachts are coming in from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia as well as Phuket and other popular yachting centres. Numbers in the Keel Yacht divisions will probably double from the 1st Top of the Gulf Regatta. Host of the TOGR, the modern-facilitated Ocean Marina Yacht Club is located just 10 kilometres south of Pattaya City — Thailand’s entertainment capital. In addition to several days of exciting racing the hospitality aspect of the Top of the Gulf Regatta is revered amongst everyone who participated in last year’s event. The Regatta will be supported by the Royal Thai Navy, The Yacht Racing Authority of Thailand, The Windsurfing Association of Thailand, The Royal Varuna Yacht Club and the Ocean Marina Yacht Club.
