The assicuation of Siamese Architect (ASA), Under Royal Patronage, plans to promote architectural professional and architectural innovation at the Architects'06 - "Sense of Balance", is currently more than 90% complete. This will include, seminars from well-known architects contest "The new Thai - How" by the public as weell as an exhibition under the garbage concept by students and "Hopewell Reborn" workshop to gather ideas in order to revive the project. In addition, over 10 architectural companies are to give away house blueprints at no cost. The 6 days fair, on 60,000 square meters, is expected to attract more than 250,000 visitors during May 2-7 ,2006 at the Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.
Rear Adimiral Thanit Kittiampon, President of the Association of Siamese Architects Under Royal Patronage (ASA) revealed "The Architects'06 will be organized under the theme "Sense of Balance" at the Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani on May 2-7 , 2006.This year we are greatly honored by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirinthorn, who will be presiding over the opening ceremony of Architect'06 and present golden pins to ASA's former presidents
Architect'06 is divided into 10 catagories, which include:-
1. Exhibition
- Architectural showcase of His Majesty's architectural talents to commemorate His Majesty's 60th accession anniversary to the throne and His Majesty'80th birthday.
- ASA to celebrate the association's 72nd anniversary and will display architectural prime works of 2004-2006.
- Architectural Awards of Prime work.
- Architectural conservation works
2. ASA Club, ASA Shop and Book Shop
3. ASA Office, ASA Clinic and workshop for students
4. Activity, open to the public, for example,"House Doctor" to give advice on the house and free blueprints to be given away.
5. Architectural contest, Thailand's innovative architectural work under the concept "New Thai - How" together with architectural work done by students under the concept "Garbage".
6. Professional architectural firm's exibition, for example, the best of decoration materials by Thailand Creative Design Center- TCDC, Thailand interior Design association - TIDA etc.
7. International Design exhibition, for example, Kutier Institute from Germany and Exhibition from Norway etc.
8. Domestic Design Exhibition-Tsunami Memorial and ARCASIA
9. Seminar for architectural professionals and public
10. ASA's internal activity surch as annual conference, 72nd Anniversary Celebration and ASA Night
"The highlights of Architect'06 are seminars by well-know architectural gurus; free blueprint distribution of houses, construction cost under 500,000 Bath, innovative bamboo arhitecture from Kurteir Institution Exhibition, Germany; Architectural Contest by students and Design Workshops under the "Hopewell Reborn" concept etc. Currently, we are in the process of inviting guest speakers from Japan and America" added Rear Admiral Thanit Kittiampon.
In 6 days, Architect'06 will be more impressive than the past years, with 20% more space - exposition area of 60,000 aquare meters, previously 50,000 and alonger duration, previously organized for 5 days. Presently, the exhibition areas are fully booked by over 700 exhibitors wordwide. The Architec'06 expects to attract over 250,000 visitors, compared to 200,000 visitors last year.
