Mr.Staporn Sirisinha, Senior Executive Vice President — Leisure Marketing Department, “KTC” or Krungthai Card PCL. Said “Our members presently spend 20% more on traveling compared to 2005. Most use their credit card to book flight tickets, hotels and tour packages and we have always been giving travel related benefits to be consistent with this new lifestyle of theirs. And on the occasion that Tourism Authority of Thailand has announced a joint promotion of the latest, world-class Southeast Asian travel route with Laos and Vietnam, we join in the initiative by arranging “Thai, Laos and Vietnam Three-Country Caravan” as a traditional Thai New Year present for KTC members.”
“Thai, Laos and Vietnam Three-Country Caravan” is poised to attract members who like to travel by personal car in an organized caravan. It will take participating travelers through Mukdahan, Sawannakate, Hue, Danang and Hoi An. What makes this trip so special is that travelers will cover all three countries in a single day, taking in the beautiful scenery along the way. Of course, they three exquisite meals in three countries: breakfast in Mukdahan, lunch in Laos’s Sawannakate and dinner in Vietnam’s Hue.”
“The route has recently been improved to meet the standards. Conventional sedans can now use it without difficulties. Natural beauty is not all to this trip. Don’t forget the cultural aspect because this is your chance to see the way Laotian villagers live and the colourful, eye-catching architectures of Hue. We will take a rest in Danang, the most popular Vietnamese resort town, and, Hoi An, one of the three World Heritage cities to be visited by the caravan, is where traditional Chinese village architectures are exquisitely preserved from the havoc of Vietnam War. Certain sections of the route will have travelers driving along the hills with a beach or a fine lake on the other side. It certainly will be a sight to behold.”
“KTC caravan will depart the office of Tourism Authority of Thailand in the morning of Tuesday the 11th of April 2006 and assemble in Mukdahan for a reception. Travelers will spend the following five days exploring Laos and Vietnam, appreciating natural beauty and World Heritage historical site, sampling fine local dishes and choosing souvenirs. Four-star accommodations and a lead car will be arranged for by us. We will also have a digital photo contest where travelers can share the recorded moments together. The caravan will arrive at Bangkok on Saturday the 16th of April 2006.”
The fare, inclusive of accommodations, meals, attraction entrance fees and visa fees, will be 13,900 Baht for adults and 7,500 Baht for children staying with two adults. The vehicle passage registration fee is 5,900 Baht. Travelers pay for their own gas. KTC members will have the choice of paying for the expenses in three interest-free installments under KTC Flexi.
