Bangkok--23 Mar--Maxima Consultants
T.N. Information Systems Ltd. steps up offering a one-stop consultancy and services for Basel II solution. With SAP and RCS as its software alliances, the company aims to be the local consultant with world-class standard. In “TNIS” view, Basel II is not a bullet to bite, but rather a key to efficiency and long term profit.
In light of Bank of Thailand’s policy to embrace Bank of International Settlement’s new capital adequacy rule or Basel II, scheduled to implement in 2007, T.N. Information Systems, the leading consulting & IT Services company, announces that its fully-integrated Basel II solution will help bring a great leap to Thai banking industry. The clients’ competitiveness will be raised and their capital adequacy management system will be uplifted to the international standard.
Mr.Aswin Varathon, Executive Director of T.N. Information Systems Ltd. said that the company has put a huge effort and time in business study and preparation before selecting world-class SAP and RCS, as its software alliances. The said solution has been proven a success as it’s already installed in many international institutions e.g. Commerzbank, FitchRisk and DaimlerChrysler Bank. Its dynamism features enable the system to facilitate the changing rule and criteria along with the ever-changing and more sophisticated financial world.
TNIS secures strong background and expertise in risk management system both in technical and business dimensions. Since it is a local firm working with many local financial institutions, TNIS then has an insight of how Thai banking develops. The company is ready to work side-by-side with the clients from adjusting the old database to better fit the new environment, to the real implementation and continuous after-sale services.
“We today are in the best position to kick-off what we call one-stop consultancy and services of Basel II. Our clients can rest assured that what we offer is a result of integration between second-to-none alliances like SAP and RCS and our result-oriented expertise. We can call that this is a realistic solution. We, as a Thai company, are here to stay as a local consultant offering world-class standard, said Mr.Aswin.
TNIS’s Basel II Solutions are equipped with capability to manage highly sophisticated risks, multi-dimensional analytical tools, facilitating transaction of the future e.g. securitization and capability to generate tailor-made report both for external and internal parties for managerial purposes. As bank directions are traced, strategies formulation will follow. The solution hence is not only a tool to manage capital adequacy, but also a system to manage risk and to help formulate corporate strategy.
In addition Mr.Chai Taebanpakul, Executive Director of T.N.Information Systems Ltd. said that task of his team will start from refining the old database to better fit with the new environment. While time used will depend on the integrity of the original database, international norm suggests some 6-9 months for credit risk module and at least 9 months for the operational risk module. Nevertheless, the company is confident that under its program, time will be less with uncompromising precision due to its years of experience working with local banks. It is the only local firm to provide core banking service to Krung Thai Bank Plc.
Mr.Chai comments further that Basel II should not be considered as a regulation everyone has to comply, but should be more viewed as an opportunity to revamp management system and efficiency.
“Basel II is a modern rule running on the trend of financial world that focuses more on risk management. It’s not a bullet to bite, but rather an opportunity for bankers to reshape how the banks are run in terms of capital and risk management. Bankers can charge your clients with the price i.e. interest rate, according to appropriate risk of a particular account. This will lead to an improved capital management, cost efficiency and then better bottom line. This is a continuous quality bottom line in a way that satisfies shareholders”, said Mr.Chai.
T.N. Information Systems Ltd. is a subsidiary of T.N. Incorporated Ltd., founded in 1946. Some 340 employees are currently in place, including around 60 caliber staffs that specialize in banking and financial businesses. The company profile includes references of many large scale projects at leading financial institutions e.g. Krung Thai Bank Plc., Government Savings Bank, Bank of Thailand, etc. In 2005, the group has a turnover of some Baht 2,000 million and will hold a celebration in its 60th year anniversary in the middle of 2006.
