The new standard for locking checked baggage on flights in and from the U.S. Since January 2003, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been mandated to screen all checked baggage at all U.S. airports for explosive. Some bags are selected for opening and inspected by hand. The TSA warns that unless you use a TSA “recognized” lock, they may need to cut your lock off if they need to inspect your bag. This lock is recognized and accepted by the TSA. It has a special dual access mechanism that allows you to use the lock normally, yet allows the TSA to open the lock, if necessary, using special codes and tools. TSA can then relock your bag and send it on its way.
