Bangkok--3 Apr--Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide
Music lovers know fully well that this year is the 250th Anniversary of the birth of musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), possibly the most greatly loved composer in the classical music world.
The Bangkok Combined Choir (BCC) and the Embassy of Austria proudly present “First and Last Choral works of Mozart” ; God Is Our Refuge and Requiem.
A heartbreaking, imperfect masterpiece, Mozart’s Requiem was the great composer’s valediction to the world. He left it unfinished on his deathbed in 1791 and left us all for centuries in stunned gratitude for his genius.
Asst. Prof. Charunee Hongcharu, the BCC’s music director and widely recognized as one of the country’s great choral conductors, will lead the chorus and the Royal Thai Army Orchestra with renowned soloists: Sandra Partridge, Karen TenBrink, Sigve Vidnes and Narat Kitavadhana.
The performance which is free and open to the public is on Friday, 7 April 2006, 7:30 pm at Holy Redeemer Church, Soi RuamRudee; and Saturday, 8 April 2006, 7:30 pm at Sapan Luang Church, Rama 4 Road.
