Bangkok--12 Apr--Spark Communications
CA (NYSE: CA) today announced four strategic senior management moves designed to help facilitate the company’s FY07 growth strategy for the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region.
“We made significant strides in our last financial year in optimizing CA’s organization in the region,” said CA’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for APJ, John Ruthven. “Now we are poised to leverage these achievements to pursue our plans for growth. The changes to our APJ management structure announced today will play a pivotal role in the execution of our FY07 strategy and our determination to position CA as the partner of preference to simplify and unify Enterprise IT Management (EITM) for companies and corporations in APJ.”
Changes to CA’s APJ management structure are the result of the following appointments:
- Shintaro Nezuka becomes country manager, president and representative director for CA Japan
- Gavin Selkirk, former area manager and managing director, Pacific and director and area manager, Japan, has been promoted to vice president and executive assistant to CA’s CEO, John Swainson
- Tony Armfield becomes regional manager and managing director for CA Pacific, and ...
- Stuart Preston has been appointed country manager, CA New Zealand.
Shintaro Nezuka’s appointment to lead the CA Japan team became effective April 1, 2006.
Nezuka holds a wealth of IT industry experience dating back to 1970. During his 35 years with IBM, he was responsible for many businesses and projects in Japan, as well as in other Asia Pacific nations and the US. He also contributed to the expansion of IBM’s e-Business service and Linux businesses.
In January 2005, he left IBM to become president and country general manager of leading customer relationship management software player Siebel Japan.
Drawing on his in-depth knowledge of the Japanese market and wide-ranging experience of the global IT industry, Nezuka will oversee the entire CA operation in Japan, as well as develop and execute business strategy, while enhancing the company’s ability to offer industry-leading software solutions to Japanese customers. Under Nezuka’s leadership, CA Japan will continue to provide excellent solutions to meet customer needs and achieve business growth.
Gavin Selkirk
Effective immediately, Selkirk will relocate to New York and play an important role in the Office of the CEO at CA’s headquarters in Islandia, New York. In APJ, Selkirk was instrumental in the significant growth of the Pacific business, while managing a regional workforce of more than 500. More recently, he completed a short-term assignment as director and area manager, Japan.
Tony Armfield
Armfield succeeds Selkirk as area manager and managing director, Pacific. He was formerly country manager of CA’s New Zealand office for three years, during which time he led a highly successful operation that delivered solid growth. In his new role in Australia and New Zealand, Armfield will build on the strong foundation of this business, while driving CA’s EITM strategy, based on CA’s vision to revolutionize the management of IT.
Stuart Preston
As country manager for CA New Zealand, Preston will build on CA’s business success to date in the NZ market. After joining CA in 2002 as sales executive, he focused on growing business in the Wellington market, successfully working with both private and public sector organizations.
