The United States of America is one of many prominent countries where CDMA services are being offered. CDMA services are currently being used by more than 225 million people around the world
Hutch users who are planning business or holiday travel to the United States can stay connected using their existing Hutch handset and mobile phone number as Hutch expands its international roaming service to all major cities in the US.
Mr. Antony Sault, Chief Operating Officer, Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia Ltd said, “With Thailand’s growing economy there is an increasing number of Thais traveling to the United States and this is one of many countries where CDMA services are widely used. Our extensive international roaming service to the US will not only benefit Hutch users here but also CDMA users from the US who travel to Thailand as they don’t have to change their handset or cell numbers.”
Aside from the US, Hutch customers can also use international roaming service seamlessly in other CDMA countries including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Canada, Israel, Guam, and Saipan.
“To date CDMA networks are being operated by more than 140 operators in many prominent countries. CDMA continues to expand its global coverage and offer seamless reciprocal roaming agreements between global network operators”, added Mr. Sault.
In addition to covering CDMA countries, Hutch has also expanded its international roaming service with operators in countries offering GSM service. Hutch now allows its subscribers to use its roaming service in GSM countries using their current number with a simple transfer to a especially rented Hutch GSM handset. Hutch customers who want to travel to countries using GSM service can request international roaming service activation at these following Hutch Shops: Thai Summit Tower, Siam Square, Central Ladprao (2nd floor), Future Park Rungsit, Seacon Square and the Mall Bang Kae.
