กรุงเทพฯ--27 เม.ย.--Seagate Technology
The 19th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate aims at developing Thai children’s practical skills in science and technology. These young children have the opportunity to learn how to create computer animation, build the robot that looks like six-legged insect and build the crane with proper training in computer, robotic technology and engineering from the experts.
Associate Professor Yeun Poovarawan, vice president of Information Technology of Kasetsart University said, “The 19th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate emphasizes the importance of creative thinking, psychological and emotional development of young children. Children who take part in this year’s camp are encouraged to develop systematic planning, search for valuable knowledge as well as possess the ability to think and reason. They will also learn about the effectiveness of teamwork and how to live happily with others in the society. Additionally, these young children will be provided with opportunities to enjoy with the study about science and technology that will benefit them in the future.”
Brent Bargmann, vice president of Thailand Operations, Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited, added that the company’s support of the camp is a reflection of its ongoing commitment to enhancing science and technology educational programs in all its global communities. The company also works closely with government, academic and industry representatives in Thailand to develop college courses that better prepare students for careers in high-technology.
“Our company and our industry is fueled by innovation and technical excellence,” Bargmann said. “At Seagate, our engineers and technologists have a passion for learning that began at an early age. By supporting the Crystal Brain Camp’s activities, we hope to instill that same foundation in tomorrow’s technical innovators.”
There are many interesting activities in the 19th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate. The camp organizers enhance the skills of young children in computer by holding the production of computer animation activity. Through this interesting activity, children learn that the program which is widely used for web creation is called “Flash”. They are taught from the beginning to the end of the processes on how to create this kind of image on the web.
Other activities include the assignment to build and assemble a robot that looks like the six-legged insect and construction of cranes. This robot works with the use of remote control. Then, children enjoy with the contest among their robots in the testing field. Creation of well balanced cranes help to provide children with excitement about mechanical and construction engineering.
The 19th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate is held from April 24 to April 30 this year at the National Agricultural Support and Training Center, Kasetsart University’s Kampaengsan Campus, Kampaengsan District, Nakornpathom province.
