Bangkok--3 May--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) grants English language software to the language institutes of tertiary-level academic institutions to promote the English language skills of students across the country.
Executive Vice President of the SET Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai said that the SET had purchased and granted the English Language Learning Instruction System (ELLIS) and computer servers to these language institutes to help lay a foundation for students who are the country’s future.
The SET will grant the system and server to those institutions which have clear administration plans for their language institutes. The plans should also benefit the institute’s students as well as the nearby community. The SET targets to give software and hardware to 50 institutions across the country.
Ms. Patareeya said: “Providing the English language learning facilities will not only help the learners develop, but will allow us to work closely with the academic institutions to contribute to society. The recipient institutes should serve their communities as well, so English will be learned more widely among students and others.”
The ELLIS is an acknowledged English language learning facilities from the USA, used to develop English pronunciation, listening, speaking, and grammar. It is expected to lessen the shortage of English specialists.
