Bangkok--3 May--Bangkok Bank
Bangkok Bank will be offering the latest mutual fund in the Bualuang Thanarat series at Money Expo 2006.
Bangkok Bank Vice President, Suyanee Puripanyawanich, said the bank is looking forward to introducing the eleventh mutual fund in the Bualuang Thanarat series to a wider audience at Money Expo.
“We would like to offer people who are interested in mutual funds but don’t know how to invest in them the chance to do so at Bangkok Bank’s booth at Money Expo where we will offer expert advice to potential investors,” Ms. Suyanee said.
“As a special offer for our customers at Money Expo 2006, those who invest Baht 50,000 or more in the Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 or the Bualuang Thanatavee mutual fund will also receive a free stylish shopping bag.
“Bangkok Bank’s Bualuang Thanarat mutual funds have consistently been sold with a high demand because they meet the current demand by investors for secure short-term investments.
“Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 invests in secure, short-term investments with a one year maturity that carries low risk. The funds are expected to offer a better return than current deposit interest rates, and are exempt from personal income tax,” she said.
Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 will also be available at all Bangkok Bank branches nationwide from May 4-15, 2006.
Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 is a mutual fund with a lifespan of 11-12 months and will mature around April, 2007. The fund will automatically redeem investment units twice, with the first redemption scheduled for the first six months and the second when the fund matures. It will redeem the investment units at a minimum rate of 4.85 percent per annum. Individuals will receive their investments back via automatic redemption without having to pay personal income tax.
Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 has been registered at Baht 3 billion worth of investment units with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The fund can be extended by 15 percent, to Baht 3.45 billion, if it receives strong interest from investors.
The Bualuang Thanarat 7/49 mutual fund is managed by BBL Asset Management (BBLAM). The fund is proposed to invest in debt instruments issued by the Government, such as treasury bills, government bonds, or debt instruments issued or guaranteed by the Financial Institutions Development Fund.
