Event Magazine, the journal for Thai event organizers, together with top Thai professionals in this field have organized the “Third Event Fair 2006, Event Awards 2005 and Thailand Presenter Awards 2006” to display the best functions held in this country and unveil the Thailand Presenter Institute (TPI)
Event organization is a successful means of supporting sales by creating interesting and exotic functions in order to draw people to these entertaining and memorable activities. This business is very active today with there being over 200 professionals in the country. The flood of new ideas and creativity as well as the employment of new techniques has made it more challenging continuously competitive. Moreover, the commercial presenter who is usually a very beautiful girl adds color to the event making this a much sought-after profession among the fairer sex.
Mr.Poj Punchathitiporn, editor-in-chief of Event magazine, said, “The Third Event Fair 2006 is Thailand’s biggest exposition in this field and brings together organizers and suppliers with outstanding events of 2005 also on display to compete for the ‘Third Event Awards 2005’, the prestigious trophy that professionals greatly desire.
“This fair also gives professional colleagues an opportunity to meet and swap notes which help develop their skills and abilities. A major change this year is that the fair covers two days, longer than last year’s day-long exposition. On May 19, 2006 nominees of the awards will be announced with the winners to be declared on May 20, 2006.”
This year’s fair is especially important because it is Event magazine’s third anniversary and also marks the opening of the Thailand Presenter Institute (TPI), the country’s first body to help develop the career of presenters. The institute was found by G.M Co., Ltd. or Event magazine in order to train public relations presenters and models so that events held in Thailand and overseas are of the same standard. The new institute can supply four kinds of professionals -- Event Presenters, Commercial Presenters, MCs and Fashion Models.
The rapid growth of Advertising and Public Relations businesses has led to the number of presenters also likewise rising leading to many underhanded tactics to fool the attractive and successful ones who earn good money. Sometimes these presenters and college students are led astray. Another problem is that presenters lack knowledge and understanding of their job. It is to resolve these problems that TPI was founded to select and train presenters and standardize the job and fair wage. TPI will also take good care of presenters after training with those trained receiving a certificate to verify this and ascertain that they are ready to work. Moreover, the institute will also provide jobs and certify the experience gained and wages earned.
“The Event Fair 2006” will take place during May 19-20, 2006 from11 am to 9 pm at BEC Tero Hall, Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Winners of Event Awards 2005 and Thailand Presenter Awards 2006 will be announced on May 20, 2006.
