Bangkok--30 Jun--ตลท.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will highlight Long-Term Equity Funds (LTFs) and Retirement Mutual Funds (RMFs) at Thai Investors’ Day on July 1 — 2, 2006. All investment management firms are to join the event and will be launching various promotions to attract funds.
“The event is part of the SET’s investor base expansion scheme. It will provide an opportunity for people to discover LTFs as an investment alternative, different to the more traditional stocks, bonds, and derivatives. The investment companies will be providing visitors with full information on LTFs and RMFs. This fair should not be missed,” said SET Executive Vice-President Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich.
SET, in conjunction with Thailand Securities Depository Co., Ltd., (TSD), Thai Investors’ Association (TIA), the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FeTCO), and the “Put Your Money to Work Through the Mutual Fund” Project, will co-host the event, which is open from 10:00 — 17:00 hours at the SET Building, Mr. Vichate stated. The theme will be: “Reduce Your Taxes Today through LTFs and RMFs”.
LTFs and RMFs can provide investors with up to 15% (of annual income), or THB 300,000, in tax deductions.
Those who participate in the “Let’s Activate Your LTF” campaign can win cash prizes to be invested in those funds. People who invest for three consecutive months during July 1 — December 31, 2006, will be eligible to enter the monthly lucky draw, with a prize equal to the amount of the third month of their LTF investment (to a limit of THB 10,000). To be eligible to participate in the campaign, interested persons should purchase LTF units from an investment management company. The first draw will be on October 20, 2006, and will take place each month until January 2007. So there will be four draws, with 100 winners each.
Apart from the LTF promotion, visitors to the Thai Investors’ Day are invited to attend a range of free seminars. To make a booking (for the seminars), please contact the Thai Investors’ Association (TIA) on 0 2237 1992-3, or the SET Call Center on 2229 2222.
