Amidst mounting frustration among mobile phone users in Thailand over call connection problems during peak hours, the proven strength of the CDMA 2000 1X network is set to win over consumer confidence for Hutch. The CDMA network statistics reports between June 24 -30, 2006 show that Hutch to Hutch calls are getting through with a 98% Call Set-up Success Rate (CSSR) at peak time (20.00 hrs-21.00 hrs) and a 79% rate for Hutch to other networks calls, through the high speed CDMA 20001X network. The daily average for Hutch to Hutch’s CSSR is close to 99% and 93% for calls from Hutch to other networks.
Mr. Thiraphant Sirisoonthornphibul, Vice President, Head of Products and Services Development at Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia Ltd., said, “Such impressive figures demonstrate the strength of the CDMA 20001X network which allows a large number of calls to get through even during the most congested hours of the day. Possess with efficient network resources position Hutch favorably in the Thai mobile communications market where seamless successful call connection is paramount to all customers.”
“Based on customer feedback, we know that nothing is more important than always being able to stay in touch anywhere, anytime. Not only is Hutch equipped with a high quality CDMA network, we also give our customers real value with dependable and cost-effective service options.”
Hutch offers competitive packages such as reduced-price handsets with attractive tariffs and easy call-through. Congested networks in the last few months not only have affected the confidence of the general public, but, more critically, have posed a concern to public organizations whose activities are time-critical and rely heavily on reliable telecommunications. Hutch now offers assistance by helping them take advantage of the quality CDMA network to get their important and urgent calls through. Hutch will donate 100 Motorola handsets with airtime worth a total of Bt 600,000 with twelve months usage to these organizations.
“In particular, we are offering our assistance to organizations responsible for natural disaster relief,” added Thiraphant, “They all need dependable communications systems to support and co-ordinate their operations. By extending the advantages of the CDMA network to help these groups, we aim to provide effective and efficient communications for the overall benefit of the Thai community.”
