DSG International (Thailand) PCL, a leading producer of baby and adult diapers, is to list on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), becoming this year’s second new listing in the Personal Product & Pharmaceuticals Sector, Consumer Products Group.
DSG International (Thailand) PCL will commence trading on August 9, with “DSGT” as its trading symbol, SET Executive Vice-President Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich stated.
“The firm is a leading company in the personal care business, with its other products including disposable goods. DSGT should be an interesting option for people looking for a consumption-related business,” Mr. Vichate noted.
DSGT has THB 300 million (approx. USD 7.89 million) in paid-up capital, consisting of an existing 240 million shares, plus 60 million shares in capital increase, all with a par value of THB 1.00. Bualuang Securities PCL acted as DSGT’s financial advisor.
The IPO price for DSGT was based on its price/earnings (P/E) ratio, with earnings based on both the company’s previous 12-month net profit (April, 2005 - March, 2006), and on demand from institutional investors. The industry’s P/E ratio averaged 10.3.
The company manufactures and distributes under several brands, e.g., Fitti, Babylove, Dispo, Softex, and Hi-Kool, and has five subsidiaries located in Thailand and overseas. Domestically, DSGT is the leader in the adult diapers market, while it is second in baby diapers.
DSGT will use the proceeds from its fund-raising to repay debts and as working capital, as the firm plans to further expand overseas. Its policy is to pay dividends based on no less than 40% of net profit.
Principal DSGT shareholders are DSG International Ltd. (a listed firm on NASDAQ), and Mr. Praphan Anowongnukhoh and wife, holding 65.74% and 9.20% of the company’s paid-up capital, respectively.
