Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is continuing its rapid flight network expansion, with three new routes launched from Abu Dhabi to Dhaka, Doha and Kuwait in May, June and July respectively.
The new destinations are testament to Etihad Airways’ aim to link Abu Dhabi to the world’s most important commercial and cultural centres.
“Etihad is proud to be flying to more than 30 world-wide destinations, and the addition of Dhaka, Doha and Kuwait are important as they support our ambitions of linking Abu Dhabi and the UAE to the rest of the world for both trade and tourism,” said Mr. Charles Phelps-Penry, Regional General Manager Asia Pacific of Etihad Airways.
Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, represents Etihad’s eighth destination to be launched to the Asian sub-continent, joining new and established Etihad routes to Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Mumbai, New Delhi and Peshawar.
Etihad launched its services to the Qatar capital of Doha in June, with the six flights per week service integral for participants and spectators of the 15th Asian Games in December.
Etihad’s launch to Kuwait on July 1, 2006 provides a new service for both business and leisure travel between the Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, and across the Etihad network.
Etihad Airways’ double daily flights from Bangkok ensures guests have regular flights to Abu Dhabi and the many international destinations across the Etihad network. Double Daily flights, between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi, EY404 and EY402, depart from Bangkok at 0905 hrs and 2100hrs respectively.
