Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) intends to give recognition and support to derivatives brokers and their marketing representatives, for their contribution to expanding the investor base.
TFEX is encouraging brokers to expand the business, with the “Top Star Tournament” acknowledging those outstanding brokers and marketing representatives who have boosted the number of investors, TFEX President Ms. Kesara Manchusree said.
The competition is underway from July 17 — October 16, 2006. TFEX will give prizes, such as the ‘most active’ and ‘most popular’ awards, to brokerage firms which demonstrated exceptional performance in trade and investor base expansion. Recognizing the key role played by marketing representatives, who have direct contact with investors, there will be three awards for those with the largest number of clients. TFEX is well-aware of this group’s importance, and last month provided sales and customer relations training for them.
In other news, TFEX recently hosted Thai Investors’ Day (August 5 — 6), with the theme: “SET50 Index Futures: easy to learn, and opportunities for gains from market ups and downs”. Response exceeded expectations, with about 300 new trading accounts being opened, and enthusiastic participation in the derivatives market simulation games. Not surprisingly, TFEX is confident of continued expansion and the likely success of its new internet trading facility.
