Tellabs appointed Sanjay Patel as vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific sales. In this role, Patel will oversee Tellabs’ strategy and growth in the region.
“Sanjay brings strategic skills and deep expertise to Tellabs Asia Pacific,” said Steve McCarthy, executive vice president of global sales and service for Tellabs. “His understanding of service-provider needs combined with his knowledge of Tellabs solutions enables customers to deliver the right solutions to meet user needs.”
Patel joined Tellabs in 1991, and has held a variety of sales, services and engineering positions for the company. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for the South Asia region. Prior to joining Tellabs, Patel held a number of engineering and marketing positions at Mitel Telecommunications in New Zealand.
“Asia Pacific service providers are making next-generation network decisions that will support the delivery of new revenue-generating services,” said Patel. “Tellabs is positioned to play a significant role in these next-generation networks. I’m honored to lead our Asia Pacific efforts during these exciting times.”
