Bangkok--22 Aug--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today published an article that said China's GDP growth in 2006 should be about 10.5%.
This reflects expectations that growth in the second half of the year would come in at less than the 10.9% and 11.3% rates in the first and second quarters, respectively. The article, titled "Chinese Economy Continues Its Surge," says that brisk investment and large credit growth have indicated an overheating of the economy, and the monetary authorities have stepped in early in this cycle.
