Of late, Internet booking has proven to be a big hit with air passengers. More than 80 percent of Bangkok Airways’ customers opt for K-Payment Gateway of KASIKORNBANK as their payment channel for online booking. So far, the airlines’ sales turnover has grown more than 30-40 percent per month.
On August 29, 2006, at Bangkok Airways Co.,Ltd, Mr. Viroj Satitharopagorn, Vice President-Accounting, Bangkok Airways, signed an agreement for the use of K-Payment Gateway with Mr. Krisada Lamsam, Executive Vice President, KASIKORNBANK.
Mr. Viroj said that e-ticketing has recently gained greater popularity with air passengers thanks to its convenience, accuracy and safety, not to mention greater efficiency in booking that enables fast self-service for customers.
To cope with the thriving service, the company has chosen K-Payment Gateway to ensure customers of speedy and safe online payment service. Since May 2006, Bangkok Airways has used the system on a trial basis, which has contributed to rising sales turnover through this e-ticketing channel. From May to July, the company’s e-ticketing sales value increased 46 percent, 42 percent and 32 percent per month, respectively compared with last year. The number of Bangkok Airways’ passengers using e-ticketing has accounted for some 80 percent of its total passenger sales. The trend is still on the rise.
Mr. Krisada Lamsam also revealed that K-Payment Gateway is the KBank online bill payment system that accepts credit cards via Internet e-commerce. This service has inherently greater efficiency for business operations because it is a 24-hour service that can accept VISA and MasterCard issued by global financial institutions.
The “Fraud Warning Light” of the K-Payment Gateway system also instills confidence with passengers and Bangkok Airways, showing that all transactions conducted through this system is safe, correct and highly accurate. KASIKORNBANK forecasts that a higher number of customers from various business fields will turn to K-Payment Gateway service in the future, which presently has around 400 companies at the moment.
