#1: Never-Seen-Before Diversity of Teams
For starters, this season's contestants are the most diverse bunch in the history of The Amazing Race. Follow the eclectic mix of teams closely as they strive to make their mark in The Amazing Race history!
#2: A One-Legged Race. Literally...
Watch whether Peter and Sarah, both Iron Man competitors who have a long history of teamwork, have what it takes to beat the rest of the teams despite amputee Sarah's artificial leg.
#3: Family Feuds and Sibling Showdowns
Season 10 also promises more emotional frenzy than ever before — so if you think you've seen how nasty the tantrums and quarrels can possibly get, well, just wait till you witness some of the meltdowns on The Amazing Race 10! Having grown up in the shadow of his Harvard-educated brother Erwin, will Godwin's competitive side enrich or endanger the brotherhood? Contestants Lauren and her father Duke were estranged for several years; as a team, they are now trying to rebuild their father-daughter relationship, but will the strain of The Amazing Race force a Detour in their path towards stronger kinship?
#4: Will Love Save the Day?
Past seasons have seen their fair share of couples struggling towards the finish line. This time around, get set for more emotional roller coasters! Bartender Rob and his girlfriend Kimberly have dated for the last two years and recently moved in together — will they be able to overcome all odds to win the race? Or will their unresolved relationship issues prove to be challenges that they simply cannot overcome? Tom and Terry, another couple in The Amazing Race 10, have been together for over two years. Will their usual light-hearted swipes at one another degenerate into harsh disparagement when the road gets too rocky?
#5: Hunks and Babes Aplenty
For eye-candy, look to blonde beauties Dustin and Kandice, inseparable friends and Miss USA contestants who differ in personality while sharing a strong competitive streak. Their pageant rivalry may be a thing of the past, yet will tension rise between them when the going gets rough? Or will Kellie and Jamie, former cheerleaders with Southern drawls, have what it takes to become the first female team to win The Amazing Race, ever?
With their dashing good looks, models Tyler and James are sure to send pulses racing for multiple reasons! They have been best friends ever since their stints in rehab — will their newfound lease on life lead them to the finish line?
#6: It’s Phil-tastic!
The man at the mat — who can resist Phil Keoghan, host of The Amazing Race? Tune in to the latest season to catch Phil’s signature deadpan expression that keeps teams on their toes. Phil has become so popular with viewers around the world that fans have coined a term “philiminated” to describe the teams being eliminated from the race!
#7: Exotic Locations, Tougher Challenges and Culture Shock
In another “first” for the show, contestants will cross the Pacific Ocean from Seattle, the starting point, in the very first leg of the season! Instead of crossing the Atlantic, or remaining in the American continent, as has been the case with previous first legs, contestants will find themselves thrown in the deep end, a.k.a. Asia, right from the start! With language and cultural barriers sure to stump some, if not all, of the contestants, Season 10's tough locations will make for some exhilarating and amusing viewing pleasure!
#8: Get Yourself in the Mood for AXN's Very Own, The Amazing Race Asia
By watching The Amazing Race 10, viewers can gear up for the much-anticipated The Amazing Race Asia, hosted by none other than well-known Singapore-based celebrity Allan Wu, who has taken part in another US reality show Fear Factor himself! The Amazing Race Asia will feature contestants selected out of a massive pool of Asian applicants and is slated for broadcast at the end of 2006. “AXN is delighted to bring The Amazing Race format to Asia,” says Ricky Ow, General Manager of SPE Networks — Asia. “It will be a homegrown treat for Asian fans of The Amazing Race series.”
