Bangkok--20 Sep--SET
Best-selling titles are now publicly available, thanks to the latest project from The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s Maruey Knowledge & Resource Center and Se-education PCL (SE-ED). The books can be found at the Center’s ‘Literature and Best Seller Corner’ - open daily from 8:30 until 23:00 hours, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
SE-ED is cooperating with SET in promoting reading habits, an essential prerequisite for a knowledge-based society. The firm will provide the SET library, or Maruey Knowledge & Resource Center, with newly-published and bestselling titles regularly, so that an interested general public can have free access to good literature, SET Capital Market Education Division Chairman Mr. Punsak Vejanurug stated.
“The Center is a lively and very popular library, providing books and other media for children, students and people in general. It is supported by several leading publishing houses who provide us with best-sellers and new publications,” Mr. Punsak said.
“This latest venture underscores SE-ED’s desire to produce a society that reads regularly. This collaboration between SET’s energetic library and a groundbreaker in publishing intellectual texts and journals, and in reading promotion, meets the missions of both organizations and will greatly benefit the people,” SE-ED Managing Director Mr. Thanong Chotisorayuth declared.
Maruey Center will keep SE-ED books for one month, then rotate them to other libraries in SET’s University Networking Project, community and public libraries, to provide people with maximum access to good literature.
SE-Ed’s selected books will be displayed to a wider audience through Money Channel on UBC97 and FM101 MHz, both channels being managed by a SET media arm - Family Know-How Co., Ltd.
Maruey Center continues the Exchange’s cooperation with leading publishing houses, with SE-ED being the latest partner. The company is the market leader in book retail, with more than 200 stores nationwide.
