Bangkok--26 Sep--Amata Corporation
“Amata” revises its 2006 land sale downward again to be 750 rai from previous of 1,000 rai to reflect investors’ “wait-and-see” stance of political un certainty. Calls Thai Government for continuing investment developing plan, especially in the rest of year 2006.
Mr.Viboon Kromadit, Director of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, announced that Amata now decides to revise land sale target again from 1,000 rai to 750 rai as Thailand is under political reforming. However some investors who need to speed up their investment plan have decided not to locate in Thailand but in our neighboring countries instead. Therefore, Government is urgently needed to find an appropriate solution to convince those investors that Thailand remains strong as a production base such as offering stronger investment incentives etc.
“Thailand’s political uncertainty has affected the investment plan of the investors since early of this year. Our land sale amount has been decreased extremely comparing to that of the same period last year. However the operations among the nearly 500 factories that Amata already hosts in Thailand have not been significantly affected by the political changes of the past week. Thus Amata’s sales of electricity, water, waste treatment and other services to its existing clients have not been affected. The company is cautiously optimistic that the return of political clarity will encourage investors to resume their plans for starting up or expanding in Thailand” Mr.Viboon said.
Mr.Viboon added that in the last quarter 2006, we have to watch closely the situation, then adjust our business plan to cope with the changes. Also we still have to do future plan for the coming year 2007 to keep our business growing.
