New Motorola mission to bring the Motorola mobile experience to upcountry consumers
Motorola is about to take its ‘Hello Moto’ experience direct to customers in an outreach ‘Moto Talon Tour’ program that aims to bring the latest cell phone designs and technology to consumers living in outlying communities. In doing so the campaign will help to “connect the unconnected” by making affordable mobile phone technology available to those who would otherwise have no easy access to communication devices.
Central to this ‘mobile’ mobile campaign is the specially outfitted MOTOBUS — a top of the line, retail store plus service center in a bus. Stocked with the very latest Motorola products, the MOTOBUS will carry all current Motorola cell phones plus soon-to-be launched models, and a wide range of mobile phone accessories. Consumers taking advantage of the MOTOBUS presence will also have the opportunity to have their existing Motorola handsets checked and serviced by specialized MOTBUS staff and to benefit from the many software upgrades available.
Departing on its first mission on to Nakhon Ratchasima on this September 29th, the MOTOBUS will afterwards head to the rest of Northeast provinces and then go ahead to the Northern provinces.
When MOTOBUS comes to town, locals can look forward to a variety of fun-filled entertainment, activities, and the chance to win a host of attractive prizes — all part of the program’s outreach. They will also be able to touch and test the latest models in the Motorola range of affordable handsets including star performers such as the C113, C113a, C117, available in both black and white and color screens, plus the current champion — the Motorola C168 with its full color display, stunning design and integrated FM radio. From the starting price of 1,000 baht, this outstanding range meets all the requirements of the average user, while exceeding expectations for quality, reliability and design.
Referring to this special mass market initiative, Motorola Regional Marketing Manager Thailand & Indo-China (Mobile Devices Sector), Motorola (Thailand), Vittakarn Chandavimol, said “According to Kasikorn research data, 46% of Thais will still be ‘unconnected’ (without mobile phones) by year end. Upcountry, this percentage should be at least around 60% we believe. We are thus confident in the potential growth of handsets business, especially upcountry.”
“This mass marketing campaign is in line with our core vision to ‘connect the unconnected’ allowing the large number of people without access to communication devices to own quality, yet affordable means of communication for everyday use.”, added Mr. Vittakarn.
“We are now fully equipped to bring the full Motorola experience to all. Following last month’s launch of Motorola’s first Flagship store in Thailand, we are now introducing the ‘MOTOBUS’ to reach out to the many more ‘unconnected’ consumers especially those who live in more outlying areas,” said Mr Sorayut Ngamchanphli, distribution channel marketing manager (Mobile Devices Sector), Motorola (Thailand).
