BFM is fine-tuning their strategies through a joint project with Mitsubishi Chemical Functional Products Inc., (Japan). The company is now penetrating Mega-projects after it has successfully installed the fire-rated Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) for Suvarnabhumi Airport. BFM plans to decrease its prices to compete with products from China that are flooding to Thailand and will provide and educate the comprehensive product information for architects, designers, contractors and project owners. The company also plans to launch new product lines during the second-half of this year. It is confident that by the end of this year the company income will grow by 20-30% from the overall market value of one billion Baht.
Mr. Kasipan Siritham; Managing Director of BFM Co., Ltd. which is the exclusively authorized distributor in Thailand of ALPOLIC/fr Metal Cladding Panels from Mitsubishi Chemical Functional Products Inc., (Japan), had revealed that it’s the first time in ten years that the company has adjusted its strategy to be more progressive and plans to acquire more government projects; especially, Mega-projects such as Airport-link, Government Complex at Changwattna, etc.
“After we had completed our project at Suvarnabhumi Airport which covers the exterior wall cladding of the Passenger Terminal, the canopies of the Concourse Building including Interior Decoration of King Power Duty-Free Shops, and AIMS building with total quantity of 50,000 square meters, we are now more than ready to take part in any Mega-projects as we are equipped with well-trained personnel, products and technologies from Mitsubishi Chemical Functional Products Inc., (Japan) who is the world leader in Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) market (Its ACM is world’s best selling). Mr. Kasipan said.
In terms of private sector, BFM company aims to acquire more jobs targeting both new constructions and renovations of high-rise buildings that require safety, energy-conservation and aesthetic from its Non-combustible Metal Cladding Panels that are suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Currently, the company is working on many projects such as Central World Hotel, Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel, CU Hitech Square, Vichaiyuth Hospital, ZEN Department Store at Central World Plaza, etc.
Mr. Kasipan explained that by applying CRM as its strategy, the company will focus mainly on providing technical information and product education for architects, designers, contractors, and project owners. The company was a main sponsor of the Innovative Aspects for Building Design and Construction seminar that was held by The Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) in December last year and will sponsor more courses to provide sufficient information of the products; especially, the product benefits and the differences of Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) with Non-combustible Aluminum Hydroxide filled core against other ACM brands with Polyethylene (PE) core mainly from China that are dangerously flammable and dreadfully toxic in case of being burned.
Currently there are around 50-60 brands in ACM market, which mostly are PE-core panels. The overall market value is around 700,000-800,000 square meters per year. BFM is the market leader in the premium market with its share of 180,000-200,000 square meters per year. The company expects its income will grow by 20-30% this year.
In order to be more competitive with low-quality products and achieve its sales target; BFM has lower its selling prices against the rising raw material and production costs. The company has also increased its stock level to cater for urgent requirements of customers and to ensure prompt cargo delivery. Moreover, BFM’s efforts to promote Sustainable Architecture and the Green Construction Concept has gained a great support from its principal in Japan.
“Unlike other countries, , there aren’t any high-rise building codes that prohibit the use of PE- core ACM in Thailand yet. We believe that if the laws have come into practice, the market of fire-rated ACM will be a lot bigger” Mr. Kasipan Said.
He added that “towards the end of this year, the company plans to launch a number of new products with new finishes such as Stone, Timber and Metal textures including the superior natural metals, for instance, Stainless Steel (SCM), Copper (CCM), Zinc (ZCM), Titanium (TCM), etc. in order to provide customers with more product variety.
BFM Co., Ltd. is the sole distributor in Thailand of high-quality Non-combustible cladding panels from Mitsubishi Chemical Functional Products Inc., (Japan) for over 10 years. Its products are not only safe of being fire-rated, but also environmental friendly. Its notable references are namely Suvarnabhumi Airport, Siam Paragon Shopping Complex, MCOT Operation Building, Bangkok City Tower, The Century Movie Plaza, Krung Thai Head Offices, CRC Tower, All Season Place, U Chu Liang Building, Plaza Athnee Hotel, etc.
