Herbalife today announced it is the Official Nutrition and Healthy Living Sponsor of the Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2006 and the title sponsor of the Herbalife Corporate Challenge Team Relay to reinforce its leadership in nutrition and health in the direct sales market. The sponsorship reflects Herbalife’s slogan “Making the world healthier.” The company plans to support 500 triathletes who are Herbalife distributors and employees in Thailand and from around the region in the competition. Herbalife will also organize a seminar called Phuket Retreat to strengthen the leadership of its high-ranking Thai distributors.
The Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2006 is Southeast Asia’s largest triathlon. Herbalife has been a sponsor since 2005 with an aim to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle for consumers. This year’s race, offering a US$20,000 prize, will take place at Laguna Phuket Resort on December 3, 2006. The event is comprised of a 1.8km swim, 55km bike ride and 12km run. Over a thousand triathletes will participate and spectators from all over the world are expected to watch the race.

We value the significance of sports sponsorship as it offers people an opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle through exercise. This reflects Herbalife’s position as a leading health and nutrition direct sales company that makes the world healthier.
“Herbalife signed a three-year contract to be the main sponsor for the Laguna Phuket Triathlon from 2006 until 2008, with an investment of 10 million baht. In addition to the sponsorship package, this year we are also the title sponsor of the team race called ‘Herbalife Corporate Challenge Team Relay’ and are supporting Herbalife distributors, employees and their families to race in both individual and team categories. Herbalife will also hold a 6km Fun Run along part of the racecourse, making this Herbalife’s biggest sports program this year. Over 500 Herbalife distributors and employees are expected to attend the race and Fun Run,” she added.
Prior to the race, on December 1 and 2, Herbalife will hold its Phuket Retreat seminar at Phuket Great Land. Over 1,200 high-ranking distributors from Thailand will learn more about Herbalife’s business strategies. Herbalife’s activities aim to not only make its distributors physically strong, but also strengthen their business success.
