Bangkok--24 Oct--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will invite foreign fund managers, economists, and analysts to hear the policies of four main ministries—finance, commerce, energy and industry. The event is to draw confidence and understanding on how the “sufficiency economy” principles will help Thailand achieve sustained growth.
The SET, in conjunction with a brokerage firm, will invite 100 foreign fund managers, economists, and analysts to directly meet with four main economic ministers and hear Thailand’s economic policies first-hand. They will meeting M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister; Mr. Kosit Panpiemras, Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister; Mr. Krirkkrai Jirapaet, Commerce Minister, and Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, Energy Minister, said Mr. Vichate Tantiwanich, an Executive Vice President of the SET. The event will take place on November 10, 2006, in Bangkok.
“These leading foreign fund managers, economists, and analysts are key persons drawing funds to the Thai market. Providing an opportunity for them to see and learn the facts in person should assure them of Thailand’s economic fundamentals and continued development.
“This event will help participants learn more about the ‘sufficiency economy’ approach and how it will help us reach sustainable growth. Also, it is a great opportunity for us to find out how they feel about our current situation,” concluded Mr. Vichate.
