Bangkok--31 Oct--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank’s Board of Directors has appointed Piti Sithi-Amnuai as Chairman of the Executive Board, Suvarn Thansathit as a Director and Senior Executive Vice President, and Boonsong Bunyasaranand as a Senior Executive Vice President. The appointments were made on October 26, 2006, and are effective immediately. Bangkok Bank Chairman Chatri Sophonpanich said that Mr. Piti, previously Vice Chairman of the Executive Board, had agreed to take on the position of Chairman of the Executive Board on a temporary basis in place of Mr. Kosit Panpiemras, the former Executive Chairman, who was recently appointed as a Deputy Prime Minister in the current government. Bangkok Bank expects Mr. Kosit to resume his position as Chairman of the Executive Board at the bank after a general election is called and a new government is established. Mr. Chatri said that Mr. Thamnoon Laukaikul, Senior Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Provincial Banking Group, had tendered his resignation from day-to-day responsibilities from January 1, 2007, but would maintain his directorship at the bank.
