Recently, Zimmer Medical (Thailand) Co., Ltd joined The Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand in holding the seminar “Maximizing Efficiencies in Hip & Knee Arthroplasty” for Thai Orthopaedic surgeons. The seminar saw Dr. James B. Stiehl from U.S.A and Prof. Bo Nivbrant from Australia, overseas Orthopaedic surgeons as the guest speakers, along with Thai speakers: Assoc. Prof. Vatanachai Rojvanit, Assoc. Prof. Keerati Chareancholvanich, Dr. Thana Turajane, Assoc. Prof. Aree Tanavalee and Assoc. Prof. Thanainit Chotanaphuti. The seminar’s objectives are to share experiences among Orthopaedic surgeons to maximize the efficiencies and to develop the technique of Hip & Knee Arthroplasty Surgery for the most beneficial to the patients including suggesting the proper treatment and alternative way of using prosthesis for Arthritis patients. In addition, Zimmer Medical (Thailand) Co., Ltd also unveiled a new model of prosthesis developed for female patients, showing the difference of bone structure and anatomy of male and female. The new prosthesis model, “Zimmer Gender Knee” is appropriate for female gender. Moreover, the company has planned to launch the new product to the market by the 2nd quarter of 2007, expecting to receive much interested from female patients.
