KGI donates 1 million bath to a project under the initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to give educational opportunity to children in remote areas. This year will be the second year of the three consecutive years.
Mr. Wei Chang Fang, Chief Operating Officer of KGI Securities (Thailand) Pubic Company Limited, met with HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to donate 1 million baht to give educational opportunity to children in remote areas.
He said,”As a corporate member of Thai society, we feel strongly that we have a responsibility to help the Thai people in times of need and we are very impressed with the work done by Your Royal Highness in helping to improve the lives of the less fortunate.”
“In line with KGI’s philosophy to act as a responsible citizen and to contribute to the good of society, the company’s board of directors approved the provision of financial support of 1 million baht each for three consecutive years to projects under the initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.”
Mr. William Fang, COO of KGI said, “In September 2005, KGI contributed 1 million baht to a project under the initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The money was used to construct a library at the Border Patrol School in Baan Kaenoi, Tambon Muang Na, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. The library was inaugurated on March 26, 2006. Proudly embossed with the KGI name and with books donated by KGI employees, this library is a gift that comes from the heart and was greeted with big smiles and thanks from the school children.”
“This year, KGI would like to do our part by donating 1 million baht to a project under the initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to give educational opportunities to children in remote areas.” Mr. William Fang added.
KGI also participates in other social activities, such as its recent donation to help those affected by this year's serious flooding. Moreover, the company has established training workshops to educate the public on new finance instruments and its experts are regularly invited to give lectures to university students on the financial industry.
