Bangkok--23 Nov--Amata
Amata’s 2006 first nine months Thailand land sales dropped over 60% compared to the same period in 2005 this drop was due to the continuing political uncertainty since early this year. The pause reflects investors’ “wait-and-see” stance to the evolving political situation. Amata is confident the present Thai Government will quickly restore investor confidence.
Mr.Viboon Kromadit, Director and Senior Vice President of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, announced that although Amata has recently revised land sale target in order to be suitable with Thailand’s economics and political uncertainty, however some investors need to “wait-and-see” their investment plan. Therefore it affects to Amata 2006 first nine months land sale amount which is able to sell only 397.78 rai, dropped over 60% comparing to the same period of year 2005 which was at 1,049.15 rai.
“Thailand’s political uncertainty has affected the investment plan of the investors since early of this year. Our land sale amount has been decreased extremely comparing to that of the same period last year. However for the rest of year 2006, there are many investors who have decided to proceed their expansion plan with us which is expected to increase the land sale amount for year 2007.” Mr.Viboon said.
Mr.Viboon added that in year 2007, most of the investors are confident with the obvious Government’s investment promoting policy, especially in auto parts and electrical parts industries which are the major clients of Amata. And they are on the stage of nearly full capacity of production. Lately, Amata has revised land sale target from 1,000 rai to 750 rai for year 2006.
