Chevrolet Sales Thailand has energized its Chevrolet Colorado 3.0-litre lineup with the 2007 Chevy Colorado CTi Maxx 163 hp pickup, featuring an all-new facelift that is stronger, more aggressive, and equipped with power that will take it to any destination. The Colorado CTi Maxx will be unveiled at the 23rd Bangkok Motor Expo and at all 100 nationwide Chevrolet showrooms and is set to open new doors and create a new benchmark of pickup truck performance and style in the Thai market.
The Colorado CTi Maxx 3.0-litre is the flagship pickup for Chevrolet’s 2007 Colorado line, with a design that reflects the company’s rich heritage of producing vehicles that deliver strength and durability, and complemented by aggressive design lines and a modern and luxurious interior.
The unveiling of the CTi Maxx closely follows Chevrolet’s well-received introductions of the diesel commonrail engine and its pioneering launch of the G80 Diff-Lock automatic locking system to the Colorado line of pickups.
The Chevrolet Colorado CTi Maxx 3.0-litre 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve features the commonrail system and variable turbocharger, delivering maximum output of 163 hp at 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm of torque from 1,800-2,800 rpm in all manual transmission models. The automatic develops 333 Nm of torque from 1,600-3,200 rpm.
Led by the CTi Maxx, the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado line of pickups sport a brand new design that oozes luxury and comfort, and features aggressive styling that allows the Chevrolet Colorado CTi Maxx to achieve a more robust and powerful presence to match its performance upgrades. The Chevrolet Colorado CTi Maxx promises to become a new alternative for customers who enjoy life’s adventures with a fast, powerful and multi-purpose vehicle that is typical of American-style pickups.
Chevrolet will also introduce the high-rise Colorado Z71 pickup with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine with a commonrail fuel distribution system and turbo-charger intercooler capable of 116 hp at 3,600 rpm and maximum torque of 280 Nm at 1,800-2,200 rpm. The Z71 is available as a 2-wheeldrive and 4x4 models.
William Botwick, President - General Motors Southeast Asia Operations and Thailand, said: “The automotive market is showing signs of improvement. Even though year-on-year sales of passenger cars decreased 7.2 percent for the month of October, the pickup segment grew by 11.4 percent. This clearly demonstrates the overall significance that pickup trucks hold within the Thai marketplace.”
“We’re confident that the Chevrolet Colorado CTi Maxx and Z71 models will help meet the increasing consumer demand for pickups with a more powerful performance, toughness and durability,” added Botwick.
John Thomson, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Service, Chevrolet Sales Thailand said: “We’re constantly developing and offering a wider choice of pickup models with functionality that best responds to the requirements and needs of Thai customers.”
“At the beginning of this year we became the first automotive company to introduce the revolutionary G80 Diff-Lock technology, resulting in more powerful performance, enhanced durability and multi-purpose characteristics. With the Colorado CTi Maxx and high-rise Z71 models, customers looking for a pickup with more muscle and higher performance will find exactly what they’re looking for.”
The new Chevrolet Colorado CTi Maxx, with its new look and 3.0-litre engine’s powerful performance, will be on display during the 23rd Bangkok Motor Expo and 100 nationwide Chevrolet showrooms starting this week.
