Bank of Ayudhya Plc, one of the country’s leading financial institution, has seen a tremendous success in its inter-bank transaction or ‘Krungsri Interbank Transfer’ with value of transaction exceeding the expectations leading the bank to join hands with 10 larger banks to help facilitate the transactions for customers.
Bank of Ayudhya, which launched the ‘Krungsri Interbank Transfer’ 10-months ago, has seen a sharp increase in the number of transactions with more than 32,000 transacted per month, thus helping the bank achieve more than 10 million baht in fee based income from the transaction. The bank therefore has decided to partner with other financial institutions to increase the limit of the transaction to 100,000 baht per time with unlimited number of transaction per day with effect from December 8, 2006.
Ms. Chancharas Boonkhun, senior vice president for Marketing at Bank of Ayudhya, said that after the bank opened its channels to transact to all customers, either for those who have a account with the bank or not.
The quick and easy transfer of money between the banks has helped increase transactions by more than 20% up until October this year since the services opened in December 2005. The 32,000 plus transactions per month in the 10-months has helped the bank see more than 10 million baht in fee based income and has therefore exceeded the bank’s own expectations by more than 300%.
Ms. Chancharas attributed the tremendous success of the ‘Krungsri Interbank Transfer’ to the bank’s strength which includes the more than 5-million customer base, its 540 plus branch network and the vast number of convenience branches it has at various department stores, gas stations and other public areas
She said that the bank was taking another step further by adding 10 more leading financial institutions to the list of places through which customers could do transactions along with the increase in the limit to 100,000 baht per transaction and allowing unlimited transactions per day.
She added that effective from now Krungsri’s customers could use the increase limits and transactions at any of the following financial institutions apart from Bank of Ayudhya, they are : Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Siam City Bank, TMB Bank, UOB (Thailand), BankThai, Thanachart Bank, and Standard Chartered (Thailand).
