Bangkok--19 Dec--DENSO International
Leading auto parts makers NGK, Bosch and DENSO, joined hands with global automobile manufacturers in organizing training for the Customs Officers on suppression of counterfeit auto parts for the benefit of consumers.
The importing of counterfeit auto parts into Thailand has been widespread over the past few years. These low quality and short life products violate trademark rights by imitating the same logos of the brand owners. The counterfeits have caused damage not only to the vehicles in which they have been used but also to the automotive industry as a whole.
SIAM NGK SPARK PLUG CO., LTD., Robert Bosch Ltd., and DENSO International (Thailand) Co., Ltd. along with global automobile manufacturers jointly held a seminar titled “Anti-Counterfeit Seminar for Thai Customs” as a pilot project to educate Customs Officers on how to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit products, and to urge a rigorous and continuous fight against the counterfeits. The seminar focused on spark plugs, which is one of the most imitated auto parts.
The Customs Department, Ministry of Finance, as the front guard against counterfeits will facilitate car and motorcycle owner in being able to obtain quality genuine products and prevent economic loss. This cooperation between industry and the authorities is hoped to attract others to join hands in taking action against counterfeit products in Thailand.
