“Pouvez-vous me prendre ? l'a?roport s'il vous pla?t?" which means: Can you take me to the airport please?" All the five lucky winners had to do was be the first cue to call to translate a simple French sentence like the above played on FlyFM and they won a chance of a lifetime to Toulouse, France, courtesy of AirAsia, Asia’s leading and largest low fare airline.
Five excited faces smiled as they were seen checking in at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5:30 pm on January 16 for Toulouse, France. The ‘Fly Me to France’ contest, which ran from 27 December 2006 to 5 January 2007, was AirAsia’s collaboration with FlyFM to offer guests a chance to win a dream trip to the home where the Airbus is made.
The lucky ones, Azam Abdul Jalil, age 33 from Kuala Lumpur, and Sheikh Ahmad Meah, age 60 from Penang, were very excited to join the AirAsia entourage to Toulouse, France worth RM 10,000 each to witness the “delivery” ceremony of AirAsia’s 16th Airbus A320 and a lifetime experience to find out what goes on behind the scenes at the Airbus giant manufacturing plant. The other three winners were Lim Kuk Chye, age 60 from Melaka; Nurhayati Binti Md. Noor, age 43 from Johor Bahru; and Nor Rashihah Binti mohd Nordin, age 27 from Negeri Sembilan.
“This is definitely a birthday dream come true for me,” said winner Nor Rashihah Binti Mohd Nordin, who will turn 27 on 18 January 2007.
“I have never been to France but studied its language during my college years as an elective subject, and when I learned about the contest from my brother I tried my luck and, surprisingly, here I am today all set for the trip. I am so thrilled and excited and can’t wait to fly back to Malaysia with AirAsia’s brand new aircraft A320 from Toulouse,” added Nor Rashihah excitedly.
For winner Lim Kuk Chye from Melaka, who happens to be a true aviation enthusiast, he “can’t wait to see the birth place of AirAsia’s Airbus A320 as well as witness the ‘delivery’ ceremony at the Airbus’s new Henri Zeigler delivery centre in Toulouse, France.”
The architect thanks AirAsia for this golden opportunity and hopes to participate in more contests organized by AirAsia in the future.
