PANDUIT? today unveiled its Net-Access? Cabinet, an innovative cabinet designed specifically for customers to manage, protect and showcase their network switches and patching applications.
Network management, security, availability and accessibility are key factors affecting data centre and telecommunications room design and operation. In the past, network designers had to choose between the security and aesthetics of a cabinet or the accessibility and cable management of an open rack. PANDUIT has revolutionised the network cabinet, offering an integrated solution that offers the best of both worlds.
Historically, cabinets offered limited cable management and accessibility, restricted airflow to equipment, and required complex grounding. The PANDUIT Net-Access Cabinet provides superior accessibility to the cable pathway, improves thermal management by controlling airflow to network equipment, and is fully electrically bonded to facilitate proper grounding.
It features inset frame posts, creating large and accessible vertical pathways for routing cables. When cabinets are ganged together, a large centre pathway is created providing unobstructed access to cables and equipment. Modular cable management finger sections easily mount to the front or back of all four cabinet posts. This design provides the ultimate in modular cable management and accessibility. The modular design incorporates flexibility for future network expansions to accommodate bulkier 10GbE copper cabling systems and next generation core switching.
Having undergone extensive thermal testing, the cabinet is designed to optimise the thermal performance of network switches requiring side-to-side airflow. This cabinet ensures the industry recommended 150mm clearance between equipment and cabinet walls by properly routing cables away from ventilation pathways. Optional ducting for higher heat density directs exhaust air to the aisle to prevent re-circulation into the inlet.
With an all welded construction, special bonded rail mounting, conductive door hinges and a unique side panel mounting system, the fully integrated, electronically bonded structure requires only a single grounding point.
“PANDUIT is consistently bringing innovative solutions to the market and the Net-Access cabinet is the latest addition to our data centre solution. The cabinet is designed with input from Cisco, our alliance partner. It has been tested and proven compatible with Cisco’s MDS 9500 series of switches, and has been awarded the prestigious Cisco Compatible Mark,” said Simin Sirun, PANDUIT Regional Director for ASEAN.
We anticipate a very enthusiastic response to the launch of the Net-Access cabinet from our customers and partners in Thailand. The Thailand’s market has been growing strongly for PANDUIT for the past few years. With the new Net-Access cabinet, we intend to further strengthen our position as the leader in the structured cabling industry.”
