In accordance to the consensus reached by Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Board meeting on the 15th August 2006, NEDA has been appointed to take คพพ. consideration and arrange a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between NEDA and Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD)
This will develop the network between the 2 agencies leading to academic benefit and enhance the development cooperation capabilities in order to provide support for our neighbouring countries.
The key objective of the MOU is to improve NEDA development capabilities by facilitating this cooperation and train our personnels. The scopes of cooperation consist of:
1. Facilitation of the relations pertaining to the identification of potential trilateral cooperation projects
2. Financial relationship and project appraisal by Co-fianacing arrangements
3. Technical cooperation and experience sharing
The cooperation between NEDA and AFD will expand the base for financial support in line with the policy and strategy of NEDA, and improve NEDA capabilities. However, the MOU is only a mean to identify the areas of cooperation without any obligations
