Bangkok--6 Feb--Spark Communications
Dubai-based Emirates Airline is offering travellers non-stop services from Dubai to the city of Venice, its third Italian destination after Milan and Rome, from 1st July 2007.
The service, initially five-times-a-week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, will increase two months later to a daily service from 1st September 2007. Emirates will operate an Airbus A330-200 on the route offering 27 Business class seats, and 251 in Economy; plus 13 tonnes of bellyhold space for cargo.
The new Venice route provides convenient connections to travellers flying Emirates. Currently, Emirates currently operates 19 flights per week from Thailand to Dubai, daily departing Bangkok at 01:30, 02:25 hours and arriving at Dubai at 05:00 and 05:55 hours respectively. The Venice flight, EK135, is scheduled to depart Dubai at 09:45 hours, arriving in Venice at 14:15 hours on the same day.
The return flight EK136 will leave Venice at 15:45 hours, arriving in Dubai at 23:35 hours that same evening.
Jeyhun Efendi, Area Manager for Thailand and Indochina said: “Italy is an extremely popular destination for Thai travellers, both for leisure and business. Thais consider Venice a romantic destination and its historical sites are much admired.”
“With Emirates’ convenient connections and award-winning inflight services, we are confident that Italy, and now particularly Venice, will become a destination of choice for Thai travellers and more Italians will now visit Thailand,” Mr. Efendi added.
While transiting at the Dubai International Airport, travellers can enjoy some of the very best shopping at the Dubai Duty Free. For those who wish to spend more time travelling around the city, Emirates’ Dubai Stopovers package, is the perfect solution with prices starting from as little as US$69.
Emirates also offers daily services to Rome and Milan in Italy.
