Yum Restaurants International (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. the owner and operator of KFC and Pizza Hut, has recently appointed Mr. Sran Smutkochorn to be the new Managing Director, replacing Mr. Joseph Han, who moved to be the Managing Director of Yum Restaurants International (Taiwan)
Mr. Sran Smutkochorn, the new Managing Director of Yum Restaurants International Co.,Ltd. has been working with Yum for more than 12 years. Prior to this appointment, he used to work as Chief Financial Officer at Tricon Restaurants (Thailand & Singapore), General Manager at Tricon Restaurants Singapore, Senior Director KFC Brand & Finance, Senior Director Finance & Business Development, Senior Director KFC Field Operation. Throughout the years of working at Yum, Mr.
Sran has been widely recognized upon his professionalism in Quick Service Restaurant. Mr.Sran is an executive, who has prudent vision with good understanding of YUM’s organization culture. and practice. The company is very confident of his vision and professionalism to bring the organization to lead the industry with even greater success.
Mr. Sran disclosed that, “ I feel very pleased and honoured to be selected to take this great responsibility of such a well-known organization like Yum. As we all know, YUM is widely recognized as the quality organization with records of successes in the world’s food industry. The working culture

Apart from this, Mr. Sran expressed his opinion towards the Quick Service Restaurant industry in Thailand that the QSR industry will grow continuously in the next 2-3 years. As for the marketing strategies of KFC and Pizza Hut, we will implement different marketing strategies based upon the
target groups of consumers. We would like to position the two brands to be the dominant brand in the consumers’ mind in every area. That’s why we have done the insight marketing research regularly in order to get deep information to develop and tailor our products to serve all clients’ needs perfectly.
“KFC, as the Brand Leader in Quick Service Restaurant, will expand our business growth consistently and there are many channels to grow. We will emphasize expanding the market to the outbound areas apart from the department store’s outlet. We plan to go in the upcountry areas in all provinces. Besides, the company will start the delivery service expansion in the upcountry areas with 20% target during these 1-2 years. Also, we plan to tailor the full-line products to cover all needs of consumers in all occasions. Regarding the store expansion, we plan to increase around 25-30 branches in Bangkok and major cities and around 10-15 branches in the subordinate areas.”
According to Pizza Hut business strategy, Mr. Sran revealed that, “ We would educate, communicate and emphasize constant but stable growth by communicating to our customers to pay attention to quality food more than quantity. We will put emphasis upon organizing marketing activities to reach
consumers and enable them to get close to our brands as much as they can to differentiate our brand from competitors. We will continue our prudent products development and quality enhancement to highlight our leading role of being an innovator in the industry. Also, we will promote impressive service and high standard in every area in response to long term growth.”
As for the growth target, Mr.Sran disclosed that, “YUM will grow double within 2010. This is a very challenging task but I am confident that we can achieve the target because we are well prepared in all areas including quality staff, competency skills, and world class services, which satisfy our customers
beyond expectation. Our parent company is also every confident of this target achievement. They are ready to invest more than 600 Million Baht per year.
