Pervasive Business Intelligence Will Drive The Next Wave of Deployments
Oracle is the fastest growing stand-alone business intelligence (BI) platform vendor in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, according to Gartner. Based on a recent Gartner report , Oracle registered 64.8% revenue growth in the stand-alone BI market in Asia Pacific in 2005, compared to the previous year. Average market growth in the stand-alone BI platform market was 12.1%. In Thailand, Oracle registered 14.1% year-on-year (2004-2005) total software revenue growth for stand-alone BI platforms in 2005.
“This report shows we are clearly the BI platform of choice in open, heterogeneous environments across Asia Pacific,” said Steve Illingworth, Senior Director for the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Technical Solutions, Oracle Corp. APAC. “Leading organizations in the region are leveraging the Oracle Business Intelligence platform to exploit their information assets more efficiently for sustainable competitive advantage. More and more, organizations are transforming insights into actions to leverage the right opportunities, maximize revenues, and increase operational efficiency.”
Pervasive Business Intelligence Driving the Next Wave
IDC predicts that in 2006-2007, a new wave of investment in BI applications will appear as demand grows for “BI for the masses,” requiring more scalable applications with easier-to-use interfaces. IDC forecasts that the BI software and Business Performance Management & Financial Analytics (BPM) markets in Asia Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) will jointly reach at least US$670 million by 2010.
“Pervasive business intelligence will drive the next wave of BI deployments in Asia Pacific,” said Illingworth. “Traditionally, business intelligence is limited to tactical reporting and typically deployed in silos. Globalization, volatile markets, deregulation, intensified competition is increasing the demand for timely and relevant data for effective decision-making across all levels of the organization.”
As the global leader in business analytics software and data warehousing tools , Oracle brings considerable expertise coupled with a comprehensive, hot-pluggable portfolio of BI technology and applications, to help organizations across the region become insight-driven enterprises.
